Sooooo I missed five classes my first day...yes, and the whole system crashed on the first day.
Before we get into this...interesting first day, we've got to rewind like 3 or 4 days before school. I had to go up to my school to pick my schedule. I got all dressed up to go because...why not step on a few necks? I pull up at school with my mom, she kicked me out and made me go by myself! Long story short, I had to wait in a hot and long line outside. When I got to the front I gave her my name and she gave me my classes and before I knew it... the day had come.
My morning start off with a mini heart attack when my mirror fell on the wall in the middle of the night.
(LOL Bruh this was me for real)
I set my alarm for 6 am when I woke up, I'm not going to lie, I was hype. I went my though morning routine ( If y'all want a morning routine article please let me know in the comment section.) I wore a super pretty shirt that my mom made me, that said ''JUNIOR SZN" with some biker shorts. Drip or drown for virtual school!
1st period (AP English lang.)
The time had come for me to sit in front of my laptop for 8 hours not knowing what to expect. 8:30 am I logged into my first-period class which was AP English Language. My teacher was very funny and crazy at the same time. We did some work, but trust me it was not a lot at all. Plus, I actually really like English classes anyways. Also, we just got to know our teacher and about some of her life.
She told us the was a graduate student in journalism and she had this cool paper that she had to do. GOALS! She was extremely chill, she treated us like people instead of "let me just do what I have to do to get paid." I really like that about her and I confirmed right then that she was my favorite teacher so far. I was thinking to myself ''Okay this isn't so bad...yet!'' I'm just kidding...or am I?
2nd period (Algebra 2)
For starters, There are SIXTY KIDS in this ONE class and I have some opinions on that and I want to get them out now. This was such a dumb idea for whoever made the schedules. I don't know about everyone else's school, but mine wants us to go back physically in person in only 6 weeks! (which I'm not going) Alright, so normally there are about 20 - 30 kids in a class without Ms.Corona, but now that she's here, there HAVE to be fewer kids in class. So hmm, what is the school going to do when we go back to physical learning and 60 people walk into one class with no clue what to do, but go off.
Anyways, back to my class. To be honest, there isn't much to say, my teacher took the whole class doing attendance. (LOL) She was actually my teacher during my freshman year in Algebra 1 and she was pretty mean back then, but so far she had been really nice, but it is only the second week. During this class I Face Timed my best friend because we were in this class together and we just laughed and about the fact that there are 60 people in one class. Overall, a nice class. I don't really care for it because it's math, but it is what it is.
3rd period ( Environmental Science)
Then came the 3rd period. When I logged in the class and I saw the students and was looking around I notice the only grade level I saw was 12th??!! I asked my teacher was I in the right class, and she said ''yes.'' In my head, I went PERIOD!! I'm a junior if you didn't know. Actually had the same teacher freshman year and she was my Biology A teacher.
My teacher had told me that I needed to set up my college board account, that whole situation was embarrassing, not even going to get into that. There wasn't really anything that happened in that class, we all just talked and chilled, it was pretty fun getting to know some of them. You know, the syllabus review and going over class expectations and such.
4th period ( Theater Production)
I was super excited to go to Theater because if you read my "about the author" you would know that I am a Theater geek. I've been doing acting for around 3 years now. When hopped on I saw my Theater teacher and I was really happy to see her. There are only 5 people in this class, so it's a real chill and laid back class. We just talked about how there is a possible chance that we'll be able to do our Theater competitions this year. which I was so hype about.
6th period (Physics)
If you have been reading my blog, you would know I was definitely not excited about physics. (This is now the second week of school and we're still not doing physics, I'm convinced she doesn't know how) Moreover, when I logged on and saw my teacher's face I was like "ohh noo". because I had been hearing about her since my freshman year and they were not good things. People told me she was very strict, mean, and annoying.
I went into this thinking we'll maybe they are wrong and that is just their opinion about her. So, I gave her a chance and...they didn't lie. I thought to myself "okay I will never be looking forward to this class. I actually had her class today and she told us we got a test next week! ON WHAT? She hasn't taught us anything. Pray for me.
I bet you are wondering right now, "doesn't she have more classes?'' The answer is yes I do. I ended up missing the 5th, 7th, 8th period, and both of my intervention classes. Fun! My Microsoft Teams account was messed up and wasn't showing some of my classes for a few days. 5th period was U.S. History, 7th was business management, 8th was Spanish, and my intervention classes were Dance and college skills.
Don't worry, I do have all of my classes now, but some of them were a bit of a struggle. Starting with Spanish, I emailed my Spanish teacher and told him what was going on and he was trying help and eventually ask me what school do I go too, So I told him and he was like ''I'm sorry I do not work at that school anymore.'' So, I told my counselor and they fixed it. Soon enough all of my other classes came along.
No, doing school virtual school isn't the ideal way I would want, but it is necessary. To be honest, I expected to not like this at all, but turns out I actually do. It does get boring sitting in one place all day but its kind of cool. This is where today's blog comes to an end. Until next time, Byeee guys.
